Vision Statement

Strong, diverse family units are thriving in a caring community committed to the collaborative development and sharing of resources to improve their quality of life.

Priority Issue Areas 2006 - 2011

Enhance Life Skills.
• Promote family mentoring.
• Enhance parenting skills and promote home visiting to first time, young parents.

Promote Public Awareness, Collaboration and Coordination of Services that Address / Alleviate the Causes of Poverty.
• Promote the awareness and treatment of mental health and AODA services.
• Encourage the development of a continuum of services that proactively assists people to move out of poverty and connects families to those services.
• Encourage agencies to collaborate and coordinate services.

Promote Independent Living and Eliminate Isolation for Seniors.
• Promote quality, affordable home care.

Increase Literacy, English as Second Language & Cultural Integration Activities among Diverse Populations.
• Promote literacy services to include language / verbal, written / reading, financial and cultural literacy.

Promote Skills Enhancement and Independent Living for Persons with Disabilities.

The Family Mentoring Initiative

In collaboration with the ThedaCare-led Community Health Action Team (CHAT), this Impact Area created the Family Mentoring Program.  The program, operated by CAP Services, assigns a team of volunteer mentors to families desiring to achieve long-term, self-sufficiency goals.     

Impact Area Meetings
