Construction Services Director

Rebuilding Together Fox Valley is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and revitalize homes and communities assuring that low-income homeowners, specifically seniors and those with disabilities can continue to live in warmth, safety and independence.
Job Description: The Construction Services Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for utilizing and leveraging resources including volunteers and in-kind contributions. The Construction Services Director will manage project selections, resource and materials assessment and utilization, coordinate project volunteers, meet with homeowners and evaluate project completion. The Construction Services Director will see projects through from referral through completion to assure quality, consistency, and cost effectiveness in work scope definition and assigning resources.
Responsibilities 1. Oversee preview and home inspection using program selection criteria and guidelines to assess repairs or home modifications requested. 2. Enlist the assistance of skilled trades people, professional services and/or other community resources as necessary. 3. Seek and implement appropriate collaborative opportunities. 4. Oversee and refine house selection process working with Executive Director, Board of Directors, and house selection committee. 5. With approved projects, complete work scopes and timelines for each job and determine the best approach for completion based on available funds and labor required. 6. Identify and secure materials within established budget or coordinate bids if an outside contractor is utilized. Whenever possible, secure and utilize in-kind donations. 7. Work closely with skilled trades people and businesses to obtain their assistance in completing work and/or volunteering on a rotating and availability basis. 8. Maintain accurate inventory of supplies and materials. 9. Maintain copies of work scopes and track time, expenses, in-kind donations and other relevant information. 10. Upon job completion, confirm work conforms to the identified work scope and any contractor requirements have been fulfilled.
Qualifications: 1. Experience in coordinating processes and managing projects to completion. 2. Possesses basic home maintenance skills. 3. Has experience in one or more of the following: building codes, housing issues, construction methods, safe work practices, and elderly/disability needs. 4. Has basic computer literacy skills. 5. Is self motivated and can meet deadlines as established. 6. Enjoys working with dynamic and diverse people and is a team player. 7. Is personable, service-oriented and can represent Rebuilding Together Fox Valley to the public in a positive and enthusiastic way. 8. Has demonstrated an ability to effectively negotiate, communicate and make decisions. 9. Has a valid driver's license and car insurance coverage. 10. Passes a background check.

The mission of Community Circles of Support is to help area persons successfully transition from incarceration back into the community. The Program Coordinator will coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the program, grow/maintain a volunteer base that helps participants, and provide community outreach as needed. Local travel between the Fox Valley, Green Bay and Oshkosh required. Must be a self-starter, empathetic, employ a strengths perspective, able to effectively communicate with a wide variety of audiences, and able to work independently with basic direction. Bachelors Degree preferred. Work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree; two to four years experience working in human services, public safety, correctional or judicial system desired.

The House Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all of the residents residing in the facility have their basic needs met. Some of the duties of the House Supervisor are: completing intakes for new residents, providing residents with hygiene products & linens, making sure residents are following house rules, enforcing safety in the building, cooking and administrative work.

Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the operations and finances of Gardens of the Fox Cities. Reporting to the Board of Directors and acting under the Board's direction, the ED is responsible for day-to-day management of the Gardens; innovative strategic ideas; policy development; community relations; fund development; and long range planning. The ED serves as the leader, administrator, and spokesperson responsible for every aspect of the Gardens' activities. The Executive Director helps develop and articulate the goals of the Gardens to its many constituencies and fosters support for them among established and new audiences alike. The ED oversees the physical and financial resources of the organization and takes a leadership role in its fundraising efforts. The ED applies management experience to improve the organizational structure, motivate staff, enhance the visibility of the garden and maximize the resources available to the Gardens. The ED inspires staff members through teamwork, accountability, creativity, entrepreneurship, respect, open communication, enthusiasm, high standards, and a good sense of humor.
KEY DUTIES 1. Supervises implementation of Gardens of the Fox Cities' mission, development strategies, and operational objectives, while meeting the Gardens' financial goals. 2. Provides leadership in developing program, organizational, financial plans, and strategic plans with the Board of Directors, staff, and community. Carries out plans and policies authorized by the Board. 3. Leads, with staff and volunteers, all fundraising efforts to ensure the Gardens has the community contributions (human, financial, and in-kind) necessary to fulfill its mission. Maintains and expands a broad base of private and public support and funding that includes members, volunteers, major donors, corporate sponsors, grant-making organizations, program participants and customers. 4. Seeks and promotes active and broad participation by volunteers in all areas of the Gardens' work. 5. Maintains official records and documents, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 6. Understands and ensures the Gardens is operating in accordance with the corporate bylaws governing the Gardens. Keeps the Board of Directors informed on the condition of the Gardens and all-important factors influencing it. Assists in agenda preparation and in the Gardens' Board Meetings, and writes monthly status reports to the Board. Participates in Board development and governance functions. 7. With the Executive Committee of the Board, conducts the official business of the Gardens, and executes legal documents as directed by the Board. 8. Fosters and maintains favorable relationships with the City of Appleton and particularly the Appleton Park & Recreation Department as well as other constituencies of the Gardens. 9. Hires, supervises, and evaluates staff, both paid and volunteer. Creates programs, including continuing education, to support staff and volunteer improvement and development. Maintains an environment that attracts, motivates, and keeps a diverse, highly qualified staff, ensuring sound human resource practices are in place. 10. Oversees the operations of the Gardens, and/or the staff members responsible for these operations, including stewardship of the gardens and plant collections. 11. Develops and maintains sound financial practices. Works with staff, the Finance Committee and the Board in preparing the budget. Ensures the Gardens operates within budget guidelines and has adequate funds to carry out is work, and informs the Board monthly on budget issues. 12. Serves as prime point of contact for press and the public, promotes accurate and consistent delivery of the Gardens information to the public, and determines mechanisms and methods for increasing public awareness of the Gardens. 13. Maintains a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the development and management of botanical gardens.
QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's degree in business administration, horticulture, or related field.
• Nonprofit or for-profit management experience in a leadership position with demonstrated experience and proficiency in financial administration, fundraising, effective use of volunteers and strategic planning.
• Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form. Grant writing experience helpful.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with donor database software such as DonorPerfect or Raisers' Edge highly desired.
• Experience in botanical gardens, arboreta and/or similar institutions highly desired. A strong belief in the value and importance of public gardens to society and a commitment to fostering activities to further the Gardens' mission.
• Vehicle and valid Wisconsin drivers license

Fund Development Director

ACCOUNTABILITIES: § In partnership with the Board of Directors, lead the process of creating a fund development strategy for the Gardens that will sustain the mission and operation of the organization. § Create and implement fund development campaigns, the granting process, fund raising events, membership drives, and other initiatives that will drive the fund development strategy, utilizing Board, volunteer and staff resources. § Coordinate the donation (dollar and in-kind) and matching gift process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of gifts received and accurate completion of related acknowledgements, reports and records. § Work with the marketing committee to create and maintain inventory of relevant print materials such as brochures, annual report, letterhead, etc. in alignment with and support of membership and fundraising objectives. § Work cooperatively with other staff as a team to meet the operational objectives of the Gardens.
QUALIFICATIONS: § Four-year degree preferred, with a proven success in major gift fundraising. § The ability to work independently, conduct research, and take initiative, particularly in areas related to granting, gifting, and donor cultivation. § Proven effectiveness at building, engaging, soliciting, and maintaining donors of all types. § Proven experience with the granting process and grant writing. § Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and competence with public speaking to groups of all sizes and types. § Excellent organizational skills; ability to work in a multi-task and deadline oriented environment. § The ability to effectively communicate with and reflect the value of the volunteers serving the organization. § The ability to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with good judgment and complete discretion. § Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office ® suite programs.
