 Head Camp Cook, Camp Birch Trails
 


 

  

Camp cook in charge of ordering and purchasing of food and supplies, preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner, packing cookout meals, and clean-up after meals.  Serving meals for up to 120 girls each week during resident camp.  Cooking experience preferred.  Must be 18 years old and have reliable transportation.  Weeks of employment are approximately June 4 to August 22, 2008.  Room and board is provided.  To learn more about the camp:  www.gsfra.org

Youth Activity Coordinator and Bridges Mentor

  

Qualifications:
A 4-year degree in human services, psychology, education, or related field preferred.  Experience working with youth, in either a volunteer or professional capacity highly desired.

Personal Characteristics:
Caring, creativity, flexibility, enthusiasm, patience, commitment, and organization are necessary to succeed in this position. Ability to establish good boundaries and be a positive role model is vital.

Position information: 
This position starts at an annual salary of $24,000 with a generous benefit package including paid vacation, and health, dental, life, and disability coverage.

Duties:
Youth Activity Coordinator
*Develop and facilitate interactive activities for students in grades 5-12.  Activities include sports and fitness, recreation, health/personal wellness, creative arts, and life skills.
*Provide academic tutoring in all subjects, both at the youth center and school-based sites.
*Build relationships and provide positive adult role modeling for youth. 
*Coordinate various aspects of annual Haunted House fundraiser, including construction, design, and volunteer supervision.

Bridges Program Staff
*Meet with Winnebago county social workers to gather/exchange information on students and service needs.

*Meet with truant students 1 or more times weekly to discuss family, peer, and other life issues with students.  Provide positive listening and appropriate feedback as needed.

*Provide academic tutoring to each student, to assist them in completing missed assignments and filling in “gaps” in knowledge due to truancy.

*Take daily case notes on interactions with each student and turn in “daily log” of appointments and activities to Youth Go and Winnebago County.

House Supervisor

  

Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley is hiring for a variety of shifts for the House Supervisor position.  The Emergency Shelter is a homeless shelter that serves men, women and families.  The House Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all of the residents residing in the facility have their basic needs met.  Some of the duties of the House Supervisor are:  completing intakes for new residents, providing residents with hygiene products & linens, making sure residents are following house rules, enforcing safety in the building, cooking and administrative work.

 The following shifts are currently open with benefits available:

SUMMER CAMP COOK

  

Want to make a positive impact on area youth by using your skills and talents this summer on a beautiful island paradise?  The Boys' & Girls' Brigade is accepting applications for a camp cook at Onaway Island on the beautiful Chain O' Lakes in Waupaca.  This position is a seasonal full-time competitively paid position June through August.  The position will include supervising 5 or 6 youth (15 to 18-yrs-old) in the food prep area, inventory control, menu planning, preparing three meals a day for between 150 to 180 people, among other food service duties. There is a living facility on the island to provide room and board if desired. The position is needed for about 10 weeks and is shared with one other person. The two cooks work out a schedule between them with options for alternating every other week or scheduling specific days that work best for them. There are opportunities to work some weekends in the fall as the island is rented out to other groups. Fund-Raising and Development Specialist
